Our Prayers Are Answered: McDonald's May Introduce All-Day Breakfast

Good news, night owls: McDonald's is finally listening to our drunken, desperate pleas for 2 am Egg McMuffins.

According to Janney Capital Markets, “industry sources” confirmed the fast-food chain is planning to test a 24/7 breakfast menu “in one domestic market, with the test set to be within the next month or two.”

Most McDonald's locations stop serving breakfast between 10:30 and 11 am, citing limited grill space as the primary reason for doing so.

Janney Capital Markets analyst Mark Kalinowski, however, insists it “makes sense” for the chain to offer all-day breakfast bites.

Morning sales at Mickey D's have been under average since last year when Taco Bell launched its own breakfast menu.

To bolster sales and encourage company-wide growth, McDonald's plans to place special emphasis on breakfast — not only through special promotions and advertisements, but also through the potential introduction of all-day breakfast availability.

Details surrounding the test menu -- including where it will first be introduced -- remain unclear for the time being.
