Groom's Beautiful Vows To New 3-Year-Old Stepdaughter Will Make You Cry (Video)

by Gillian Fuller

To get married is to make a lifelong commitment to the person you love.

But for Brian Scott, with marriage came an additional commitment: fatherhood.

Scott, a NASCAR driver, met his bride, model Whitney Kay, through mutual friends in 2011 and quickly fell in love.

Soon after, he met Kay's daughter, Brielle, and found himself falling into a different kind of love with the little girl.

So, on his wedding day in January of last year, Scott recited not one but two vows: One for his wife and one for his soon-to-be stepdaughter.

He bent down on one knee to be eye-to-eye with the 3-year-old girl, and told her,

I promise to always hold your hand and skip with you down the street and bring comfort to your life. I vow to make you say your prayers before you eat. I promise to read you stories at night and to always tuck you in real tight. I vow to show you how a man should treat a woman in my relationship with your mother. And above all else, I vow to protect you, care for you, and love you forever.

Whitney, (aka the luckiest woman in the world), told Buzzfeed,

There was not a dry eye in the room. He loves Brielle more than life itself and I think it was cool for everyone to really witness his love for her. She's a daddy's girl.

The six-minute tearjerker of a video, filmed by wedding videographer PenWeddings, was posted to YouTube shortly after the ceremony last year, but it only recently went viral.

Today, the Scotts have another child -- a baby boy named Joseph -- and are just as happy and in love as ever.
