Family Honors Late Daughter By Walking From Disneyland To Disney World (Video)

by Adam Pliskin

The Cobb family has been walking across America for the past seven months in order to honor their daughter and sister who passed away from cancer at 8 years old.

Julia Cobb died of Ewing's sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, following a family trip to Disney World. Julia had been battling the disease for a year and a half before she passed.

The family then decided to walk from Disneyland in California to Disney World in Florida in her memory. Julia loved her time at Disney prior to her death, and this seemed like a fitting way to keep her spirit alive.

The whole family has been walking across the country; Parents Jennifer and Jonathan Cobb are joined by their three kids, Jonathan, Jenna and Jaxie, on the trek.

They sleep in donated hotel rooms and the children are "road schooled."

It's a touching way to share their love of their daughter and sister who was taken from this world much too soon.
