"The Violent Coasters" might sound more like a rock band than a domestic violence campaign, but that just makes the name all the more memorable.
To raise awareness about the connection between drunkenness and abuse, a Tokyo bar chain, Yaocho, printed cold-reactive drink coasters and gave them out to bar guests. At first glance, customers only saw the face of an average woman.
After a chilled drink was set on the coaster's surface, however, bruises began to appear.
The brand alleges the coasters have had positive influences on consumers. There's only one step left to take: Let's see some male coasters, too.
