This Is The Average Number Of Dates People Go On Before Having Sex

Have you ever wondered how the dating scene in your city stacks up against the rest of the world's?

Well, thanks to Time Out, now you can find that out.

The international magazine conducted a survey of over 11,000 people in 24 different cities throughout the world to determine, among other stats, what people think about dating apps, relationship deal breakers and, of course, if sex on the first date is kosher ("nope," say respondents).

The global average for a new relationship's first sexual encounter is after 3.53 dates, and only one in 10 respondents think that expecting sex on a first date is fine.

What isn't fine on a date?

“Bad breath” rules out a second date among the majority in London, Singapore and Hong Kong while “bad politics” and “bad resemblance to their profile picture” are deal breakers in Chicago, LA and New York.

Luckily, though, most don't have to sit through the date for long before deciding where it'll go -- 41 percent of respondents worldwide claim two to three minutes is all they need to decide if they'll give their date a second chance.

Still, an estimated 40 percent of first dates end in a second date, while one in five dates end in nudity. Score.

All in all, Paris was found to be the best city for dating, with 83 percent of respondents reporting a positive attitude toward the dating scene. Interestingly, most singles in the City of Light prefer meeting people the old fashioned way -- naturally -- rather than seeking them out on dating apps.

You can see all of the results over at Time Out, but remember, it's not a guide: If you want to have sex on the first date -- f*ck it. If you want to have sex before the first date -- then by all means, get naked.

The bottom line: Dating is a bitch no matter where you are, so do your own thing, and the rest will fall into place.
