Adults Challenged To Sit In A Hot Car Learn Shocking Lesson On Safety (Video)

by Eitan Levine

Almost every week, at least one child dies from heatstroke after being left in a car.

This powerful PSA by Kars4Kids warns parents about the dangers of leaving children unattended in cars during the summer months. In the Hot Car Challenge Social Experiment, Kars4Kids demonstrates this by locking adults in car seats, closing the door and letting them sit with their seatbelts on and the windows rolled up.

Kars4Kids offered $100 to anyone who could make it through 10 minutes of sitting in the back of the car, though none of the participants shown were able to make it.

So the next time you think of leaving your kids in the car while you run into the store -- even for a quick second -- just remember, unlike the adults in the video, your children don't have a red button they can press the moment they need to get out.
