95-Year-Old Becomes Granddaughter's Bridesmaid And Has Best Time Ever

by Emily Arata

Dorothy Shapiro is 95 years old and ready to party.

When asked by granddaughter Jamie Jacobs to serve as matron of honor in her Manhattan wedding, the spirited, elderly woman was more than up for the challenge of acting as the sole bridal attendant.

Instead of choosing among friends, Jacobs decided on her grandmother because their relationship is "on another level."

In a profile by The New York Times, Shapiro reveals she even made it down the aisle "like a real trooper" and danced with the newlyweds.

Shapiro, who describes herself as "not that old-fashioned," was honored to be part of Jacobs' wedding day.
