Woman Posts Plea To Find Boy Who Left Tragic Note To Dead Dad Tied To Balloon
"A helium balloon floated into my yard today and landed on my heart," starts a Georgia mother's tragic Facebook post. "Attached was a note that made me cry and hug my family a little tighter."
Alejandro Garcia-Herreros was 4 years old when he watched his father get shot to death in Cucuta, Colombia, three years ago.
Now, on the anniversary of his death, Alejandro, now 7, and his mother attach a message for the boy's father to a balloon and release it into the sky.
Alejandro's father was killed for his watch.
Suzane Womac Edwards found Alejandro's note 20 miles from Alejandro's house. It's utterly heartbreaking.
Dad I wish you were here so we coold have fun to gether. I wish you a merry Christmas. I hope you tell God to give me those presents I hope you are happy in heaven. If you are then tell me. I love you, Alexander
Suzane Womac Edwards posted the photograph to Facebook, addressing Alejandro directly.
To Alexander, I want you to know that Heaven is a wonderful place, more amazing than you or I can even imagine. I am certain that your daddy didn't want to leave you or cause you to feel lonely or sad. But in Heaven, he is ok and he is happy. He wants you to be happy too! He will always love you and I am sure that you make him proud! Have a Merry Christmas!!
The letter quickly went viral, shared by thousands of people, attempting to find the boy.
And, amazingly, the post was eventually seen by the boy's mother, Yudy Katerine, who wrote to Suzane Womac Edwards thanking her for the kind words.
The mother of this boy has reached out to me. She was very touched by my post, and did relay it's message to her son. She said he had a tear of joy and was so glad to know his dad is happy.
Countless people who read the post contacted Alejandro's mother, wanting to send him gifts for Christmas.
Yudy told DailyMail.com, "It is one of life's miracles."
