Mom Pens Tragic FB Post Blaming Bullies Who Gang-Raped Daughter For Her Death
A young teenager who was relentlessly bullied and brutally gang-raped committed suicide when she was 15 years old.
Cassidy Trevan was tormented by a malicious group of girls at school two years before she killed herself, Daily Mail Australia reports.
When she was 13, bullies led the victimized teenager to a home where she was raped by two older boys who "shared her and timed each other" during the attack.
On January 29, Cassidy's mother penned an emotional Facebook status shaming the bullies who caused her beloved daughter so much anguish that she committed suicide.
Cassidy's heartbroken mom, Ms. Trevan, explained how she spent the nightmarish two years after her daughter was raped trying her hardest to keep her from committing suicide.
She started the emotional post by writing, "BULLYING KILLED MY CHILD."
A harrowing excerpt from the opening paragraph reads,
Cass was only 13 at the time, and although I spent almost two years desperately doing everything I could to try and keep her alive, she never got over it. Even though I moved her away, she could never go back to school again, she couldn't be around people anymore, a quick trip to the shops often ended in tears or panic attacks.
The devastated mother then admitted Cassidy worried the bullies and rapists would "find her and get her again."
She also said her daughter suffered from "flashbacks of the crime, nightmares, insomnia, separation anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD and subsequent worsening mental illness."
Ms. Trevan then stated she watched helplessly as her only daughter fell into a deep depression that eventually led to her tragic suicide.
Before assuring the fact she holds no vindictive feelings toward Cassidy's bullies, she makes it known that she hopes they will never forget the fact they indirectly murdered her daughter.
She wrote,
I know who you are, you know who you are, and the police know who you are. I hope the knowledge of what you did haunts you for the rest of your lives, and one day, if you are lucky enough to have children of your own ... remember what you did to my precious only baby, and imagine how you'd feel if someone did that to your baby.
Ms. Trevan was referring to the girls and the boys who destroyed the young life of her daughter.
On the night Cassidy was raped, the female bullies lied to her and said they were taking her to a festival. In reality, they planned on taking Cassidy to the home where she was gang-raped.
During the two-year period after that night, both Cassidy and her mom met with Detectives from Victoria Police's Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team.
However, no charges were made for the bullies because Cassidy didn't make a statement out of fear of being ridiculed.
Because of those bullies, Cassidy took her own life and her mother was left without a daughter.
Ms. Trevan ended her post, and said,
I hope you never forgive yourselves and never forget the name Cassidy Trevan. You all have blood on your hands for as long as you live.
Cassidy's mother has deleted her Facebook after posting about Cassidy's suicide.
