This Massive Crack Mysteriously Appeared In A Wyoming Mountain Range (Video)

by Eitan Levine

An enormous hole the size of seven football fields kind of just appeared or whatever in the foothills of Wyoming, you know, kind of like how every disaster movie starts.

Seriously, someone get Jeff Goldblum on the phone because I guarantee this thing will 100 percent kill all of us.

The massive hole was found by a hunting outfitter group called SNS Outfitters & Guides in the Bighorn Mountains located in the northern part of Wyoming.

The group claims the ground split open some time in September, though it didn't come across the hole until October.

The hole measures over 750 yards long and around 50 yards wide -- which seems big enough for those things from “Pacific Rim” to get through.

People in Wyoming are comically mystified by this hole.

One member of SNS said,

All of a sudden it was just there. I think the reason it's so fascinating is it's so big. And it doesn't make any sense... It's just like the ground opened up.

According to an expert, the gap, which is being nicknamed "the gash" for some awful reason, is reportedly caused by a spring that made the caprock wet -- which seems like something a scientist would say in the movie “Cloverfield.”

The group uploaded a post to its Facebook page with pictures of the geological phenomenon.

This giant crack in the earth appeared in the last two weeks on a ranch we hunt in the Bighorn Mountains. Everyone here is calling it “the gash”. It's a really incredible sight.Huntwyo.com Posted by SNS Outfitter & Guides on Friday, October 23, 2015

This seems like the kind of post a hunting outfitter group would post to its Facebook before that thing from “Super 8” destroys a small town.

Yup, this is how it all ends, everybody.
