Kristin Cavallari's Brother Michael Found Dead 3 Days After Going Missing

Just three days ago, Kristin Cavallari's older brother, Michael, was reported missing. Today, the California resident was found dead in Grand County, Utah.

Kristin, former "Laguna Beach" reality star, tells E! News,

We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.

She also delivered the news in a post to Instagram, in which she writes,

My heart is in a million pieces. Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP

According to FOX News, Michael's 2014 Honda Civic was found abandoned on November 27 in the relative area where his body was later found.

The man who found the car reported it was still running at the time, and the airbags were deployed, but Michael was nowhere to be found nor heard from. According to reports, Michael's laptop and cell phone were also still in the car, and there were no signs of foul play at the scene.

The Grand County Sheriff's Office detailed the scene where Michael Cavallari's body was found in a statement:

At approximately 10:30 a.m. search crews located remains believed to be that of Michael Cavallari. At this time, the body is being transported to the Office of the Utah Medical Examiner for positive identification and to determine the cause of death. The search crews were searching the Salt Wash area, near exit 175 on I-70 in Grand County. The terrain where the body was located is a steep and very rocky area.

Five days before he went missing, Michael was arrested in Southern California following an incident in which a woman called the sheriff's department saying Michael was standing outside her home with a shotgun, FOX News reports.

Allegedly, the pair had been arguing in the days prior, and Michael was reported to have been drinking at the time of the incident.

Just a couple weeks ago, Kristin Cavallari gave birth to her third child with husband and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.

According to E! News, the fashion designer's brother, Michael, has been "getting into trouble for a long time," but despite that, the siblings remained close.
