Meet 13-year-old Jack from Virginia. He was turned away from stores when he tried to buy alcohol, cigarettes and porn — but managed to purchase a gun.

The insane experiment by HBO follows the boy as he walks into a number of shops asking for stuff well beyond his legal age limit.

Hidden cameras show store workers refusing to sell Jack the items. But then he goes to a gun shop, where he buys a .22 caliber rifle from a private seller.

Virginia law prohibits anyone under the age of 18 from knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporting a handgun or assault firearm.

However, there is no minimum age to purchase or possess a rifle in Virginia, according to smartgunlaws.org.

The video, from 2014, serves as a crazy reminder that this can actually happen.
