Rock Bottom: Man Drops The Engagement Ring In The Water While Proposing

by Taylor Ortega

If a man doesn't make people wade in the water under a dock during his proposal, don't marry him because he doesn't have the sense of adventure needed to keep the spark of romance alive.

Luckily for Kayla Harrity, plenty of wading occurred when her now-fiancé, Matthew Picca, dropped the engagement ring into the water underneath a dock during his proposal.

On Facebook, Harrity recounted,

Matthew got down on one knee at our favorite place in [Southport] tonight. Just as he opened the ring box, the ring fell out of the box and [through] the crack on the deck. It took five men and my sister 1.5 hours to find the ring in that water. But it was found and we are getting married!

Strangers jumped in the water to help the couple find the ring and save the evening.

It's offical :) Matthew got down on one knee at our favorite place in South Port tonight. Just as he opened the ring... Posted by Kayla Harrity on Saturday, August 22, 2015

Unfortunately, Harrity told WBTV her sister accidentally submerged Picca's phone during the search, and it became the single casualty of the night.

Perhaps this couple should plan a honeymoon on dry land.
