Fan Is Suing Steve Aoki For Breaking Her Neck While He Was Crowdsurfing

by Adam Pliskin

Steve Aoki is known almost as much for his crazy crowdsurfing as he is for his music.

But now, his antics have caught up with him, and he is facing a lawsuit  for his actions at a show in 2012.

During the 2012 San Diego performance, Aoki jumped from the stage into a pool raft in the crowd.

Reportedly, he landed atop partygoer Brittany Hickman who claims he broke her neck and ankle.

Hickman told 10News,

I was trapped underneath the pool raft because they threw it out right where I was standing. My friends told me he landed on top of the pool raft, hit me on top of the head and I got knocked over. Your life can be changed so much for someone's reckless actions.

The lawsuit is now going to trial after originally being filed in 2013.

On his behalf, Aoki's representatives told EW,

I would never want anyone to get hurt at any of my shows and feel badly that someone has, but at this time I have been advised by my attorneys to not speak about this as it's going to trial. Thank you for your understanding.

We'll keep you posted on how this one shakes out.
