Kendrick Lamar Buys The Most Non-Rapper House Ever For $524,000

by Adam Pliskin

If you've ever seen "MTV Cribs," you know rapper's homes are usually lavish and insane. They typically look like homes out of "Scarface" and you wouldn't really be surprised if there was a tiger chained up in the backyard.

That's why Kendrick Lamar's new home seems absolutely crazy by rap standards. It's a four-bedroom home in Eastvale, California, which is a good hour outside of Los Angeles. The home cost Kendrick a mere $524,000 and is under 8,000 square feet.

Kendrick has always been a shining example of a rapper who makes an effort to not get caught up in the trappings of the lifestyle. He doesn't smoke or drink. He doesn't get blinded by wealth or fame. He focuses on his music and has condemned his contemporaries for not doing the same.

So, maybe it's not that surprising that Lamar would buy a quaint home like this. I mean, the home itself looks like perfectly nice, with a decent backyard and a pool. But it's just not what you think of when you think of a big-time rap superstar.

I'm glad to see that Kendrick is being smart with his cash and setting a good example for his fans and fellow rappers. If only he were around to teach MC Hammer a thing or two about responsible spending.
