Here's Justin Bieber Performing 'Where Are U Now' When He Was 15 (Video)

Sorry, Team Jelena: Here's irrefutable proof that Justin Bieber's “Where Are Ü Now” is not, as has been implied, about Selena Gomez.

Earlier today, a clip surfaced showing Bieber performing the song at the Canal Side Lounge all the way back in 2009.

Then only 15, Bieber had written the song as a slow, soulful piano ballad; the sound is a total 180 from the electronic, beat-heavy version he released this past spring with Skrillex and Diplo.

Though it's hard not to laugh a little bit at the video — prepubescent Bieber's voice was like, eight octaves higher than it is now — there's no denying that even then, the kid had talent.

However, now that we know the song isn't about Bieber's on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez, one question remains: Who is it about?
