Taylor Swift Is A Total Sagittarius ~Lover~, Based On These Quotes And Lyrics

“The Archer” is definitely her brand.

Taylor Swift may be a Scorpio in a lot of ways — thanks to her rising and Mars signs — but if you ask the December-born star, she’s a Sagittarius through and through. These quotes and lyrics about her sun sign prove it:

In 2012, the Grammy winner kicked off her fourth studio album, Red, with a song called “State of Grace,” and there’s one specific line that reveals her passion for astrology.

Whether or not “twin” was in reference to twin flames or simply matching sun signs (i.e. another Sagittarius) remains unknown, but you can’t ignore the mention of “fire signs,” which are Aries, Leo, and her sun sign, Sagittarius.

Shortly after, during an interview for the Dec. ‘12/Jan. ‘13 issue of Vibe, Swift revealed her thoughts on what it means to be a Sagittarius, which she says includes having characteristics such as optimism, wanderlust, and the need for independence — and she’s not wrong.

I’m a Sagittarius, which means, you know, I’m blindly optimistic, I love to travel, I’m always up for adventure but also always want something new.

Sagittarians are really independent, and we like our space. We’re drawn to love but battle for that need for independence.

Swift even believes that astrology could be blamed, at least in part, for her infamous feud with Katy Perry, telling Rolling Stone in a 2019 interview:

[Katy’s] like, ‘I’m a Scorpio. Scorpios just strike when they feel threatened.’ And I was like, ‘Well, I’m an archer. We literally stand back, assess the situation, process how we feel about it, raise a bow, pull it back, and fire.’

If you paid attention to Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” music video, you may have even noticed a few easter eggs pertaining to “The Archer,” such as Hayley Kiyoko wielding a bow and arrow (à la an archer) and hitting a bullseye with the No. 5 stamped on it, in reference to its track number on the album.

So, despite Taylor Swift’s watery nature (i.e. Scorpio rising, Cancer moon), she clearly identifies her fiery sun sign, Sagittarius, as the ruler of the zodiac wheel.

*Long live* the archer!
