#NoFilter: Why I Will Never Censor Myself And You Should STFU About It

by Ashley Fern

These days, being true to yourself is a concept people can't fully grasp. Instead, they are living their lives fixated on the reactions of others.

When did it become a crime to speak what's on your mind? Why are we so worried about offending people?

While that may be the case for some -- if not most -- it definitely isn't the case for all. In fact, I'd much prefer to speak my mind, offend someone and never have to deal with his or her sensitivity again.

I mean, who even has time for that? If anything, this seems like a great plan of attack for trimming the fat out of your life.

I don't like my movies or books censored, so why would I like my life censored? Exactly -- I wouldn't. You need real, upfront and crazy people to keep you alive! And if people tell you otherwise, nix them -- you don't need that negativity in your life.

So why are the best people the ones who lead an uncensored life?

1. You'll never second-guess what I have to say

You should thank me for never wasting your time. It's a real case when someone can be so upfront with things.

2. If you can't handle the truth, you don't deserve to be in my life

Why would you want people in your life who can't handle the reality around them? Sounds like a basket case of a person if you ask me.

3. I give the best advice

People who keep it 100 percent will always tell you what you need to hear.

It may not be what you want to hear, but at the end of the day, it's definitely what you were looking for.

4. I'm always down for a man-hating bash session

When your good friend hates something with all her being, there's a solid chance you hate that thing twice as badly.

5. It's always a guaranteed good time when you're with me

The more you can let loose and be your real self, the more fun you are guaranteed to have. Don't believe me? Go test it out for yourself.

6. People can trust you

People know they can trust you because you are always staying true to yourself.

It's a harsh world we're living in these days, so once you find someone you can actually trust, never let this person go.

7. I say what everybody else is thinking

And the world is a much better f*cking place because of it. At least I think so, and honestly, it just brings us to our next point...

8. I don't really care what anyone else thinks

That's the damn way it should be! I should be an inspiration to all.

9. I'll always have your back

I don't care if I agree with whatever it is you're doing or saying, I will always have your back.

It's not easy to stick up for yourself, and sometimes, you need a little extra support.

10. I'm fiercely loyal

I stick up for my friends and stick by them. In a world where you don't know who you can count on -- isn't this the most important thing?

11. I'll always be less stressed than you

Why? Because I'm not concerning myself with the insignificant opinions of others. I'm just out living my life the way it's supposed to be lived.

12. I clear the air all the time

Who has time to be passive-aggressive when sh*t is bugging you? Which just brings us to the next point...

13. I deal with my problems way quicker than you

By being upfront, you're able to figure out any issue that much quicker. I don't know anyone who wouldn't want to handle stress this way.

Maybe they aren't capable of it, but it doesn't mean they wish otherwise.

14. I wear my heart on my sleeve and my f*cks on my mouth

No shame in this game.

15. I think the truth is more important than someone's feelings

Ninety-nine percent of the time, it works every time.

16. I'd rather be real even if it means getting rejected

Why? Because I don't want anything to do with you otherwise.

17. I don't ever play games

No one wins with this mindset.

18. I always stick up for myself

Because at the end of the day, you only have yourself, and if you can't support your personal endeavors, how can you expect anyone else to?

19. I don't put up with bullsh*t

And neither should you nor anybody else.

20. I don't take excuses, and I don't make them

More people should try and emulate this style.

21. I have confidence in my opinion

I stick to my convictions, which is more than I can say for a solid majority of the people I know.

Why are you trying to conform for the sake of conformity? Having your own unique opinion is what life is all about!

22. I don't need validation

My self-validation is quite sufficient enough.
