Your Future Already Started: Never Settle For Being Content When Glory Is An Option

Your future already started – how’s it looking?

We are the brilliant beings we are because we have a vivid understanding, or rather, a vivid interpretation of what we believe the concept of future is, as well as what our future holds for us individually.

We can imagine our lives in a sort-of fashion, filling them with whatever and whomever we wish. We have the ability to create an alternate reality in our heads! Do you comprehend how amazing a feat that really is?

Most importantly, we can all – to different degrees – grasp a means of getting from where we are at the moment, to where we want to be in the future.

We’re able to formulate a plan and a set of actions to turn that imaginary reality into our actual reality. How awesome is that?

We are very impressive animals. And we understand that – so much so that we no longer characterize ourselves as being in the same kingdom as our four-legged, scaly and winged friends.

We can basically "see" the future, understand how it works and understand how to mutate our reality to look like the one we imagined. No person, of course, can calculate such a future perfectly – there are too many variables.

Nevertheless, if we focus and do our best, we can figure out how to get what we want. It may come more easily to some than to others, but we are just about all capable of it. Unfortunately, most of us never make it.

It truly does sadden me to know that most people never bother to reach their potential. I’m not even talking full potential. The truth is that most people don’t even reach the tip of the iceberg.

Environmental and outside factors aside, most individuals never create the future they wish for themselves.

A lot of the time they will blame it on not being able to fully envision what they wish their lives would be like. They claim that they are uncertain with what they want to do, with how they want to live, with whom they want to be. If that is true, then you really do have a serious problem on your hands.

Figuring out who you are as an individual should be your first and foremost priority. In reality, most people could get a great understanding of who they are, what they like, what they don’t like, and what is and isn’t important to them.

It’s what we find important – what we give value – that defines who we are as people. Most people could get a firm grasp on their reality if they gave it their best effort. But most don’t. Anyone could question life, question the things they see, question the beliefs they have until they reveal themselves to themselves.

We have all the answers. We just don’t bother asking the questions.

However, it’s not only those who aren't eager enough to change who will never create the life they want for themselves.

Many understand what they want. They even understand how to get there. So what possible excuse can these people have for not making the necessary changes, for not living the life they need to be living in order to die happy?

I have no idea. No real idea, anyway. I understand the excuses that people make, but what I don’t understand is how they can continue to keep making them.

It’s easy to feel sorry for yourself. It’s easy to say that the timing isn’t right, that you aren’t ready, that you have too much on your plate – anyone can say that.

And most people do say just that.

There are two things you need to understand and never forget. The first is that if you are going to make changes, if you are going to start living the life of your dreams, then you have to start today. You have to start right now.

You cannot live life in the same exact shoes that you have been living in thus far. You aren’t happy with those shoes. Take the damn things off already!

Tomorrow is too late. Yesterday may have been better, but it’s okay; you still have today. You still have right now to live life the way you want to live it. Go do what you want to do and don’t allow anyone to tell you that you can’t do it.

Big or small, you should be filling your life with the things that you want to fill it with. You need to have the experiences that you want to experience and spend time with the people whom you want spend time with. If you’re going to start making changes, then start today.

Secondly, what you have to also understand is the fact that great changes don’t happen overnight. You won’t wake up tomorrow to your dream life unless you started working on it years ago.

Each and every thing that you do today should bring you a step closer in the direction you want to go.

You have a long journey ahead of you – I won’t tell you otherwise – but it will all be worth it in the end. That much I can promise you.

If your life doesn’t resemble the life that you want to one day have, if everything you do is the opposite of what you wish you were doing, if you never make the smaller changes necessary to maintain the larger changes, then you will never realize your great potential.

You will never give life to your imagined future. You will never truly be happy.

Don’t settle for contentedness when glory is up for grabs.
