12 Irrational Fears You Need To Ditch Once And For All Before Turning 25

Babe Ruth once said, “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”

This wild, incredible thing we call life goes by as quickly as a rollercoaster ride. It gives us loops, turns, drops, and moments that instantly take our breath away.

By sitting down and strapping on our seat belts, we knowingly prepare to embrace the unknown and deal with whatever surprises the ride may bring.

Our 20s are exactly that — spontaneous moments that make us want to scream out in delight, and other times, out of pure fear. And sometimes, we truly let our fears keep us from playing our best game.

Here are the 12 fears you need to leave in the dust for good before turning 25.

1. Living On Your Own

Mom's homemade pasta and meatballs may be the most legit treat ever, but there's something so empowering and freeing about making a life for yourself on your own, too.

2. Moving To A New City Or Town

Embrace the change with open arms, and explore your new surroundings. Get to know them like the back of your hand, and make this destination your new and personal home sweet home.

3. Being In A New Relationship After You've Been Hurt

It totally sucks having your heart broken, but you'll be limiting yourself by not opening up to an exciting new relationship when one does present itself.

4. Going To Events By Yourself

Mingle, network, and meet new people outside of your immediate squad.

It's absolutely worth it to open yourself to so many new experiences and opportunities.

5. Failing… Hard

Sometimes, we have our greatest moments, and other times, we have our not-so-prime moments. It's important to learn how to cope with failure, and to learn from it constructively.

Pick yourself back up, girl, because the world is your oyster.

6. Disappointing Your Family

People make mistakes; it's all part of this wild rollercoaster we call life. Your parents will still be proud of you and love you endlessly, regardless of any roadblocks you face.

7. Letting Your Significant Other Go

If you're staying in a relationship out of convenience, or you're afraid of not having that person in your life anymore, it's time to set him (and yourself) free.

You're not being fair to either of you by remaining in a relationship you're not completely happy with.

8. Being Forever Single And Not Finding The Right One

It will happen, and the greatest things in life are certainly worth the wait... most especially Prince Charming.

9. Missing Out

FOMO can be all too real, and unfortunately, we can't be in 10 places at once.

Learn how to pick and choose the plans that truly matter most to you. Trust me, there will be plenty more bar nights and beach days with the squad.

10. Distancing Yourself From Certain Friendships

The toxic people who bring more harm than good into your life aren't worth your time or energy. Welcome gems into your life who exude all the positive, vibrant vibes you deserve.

11. Staying In A Job You're Not Happy With

If you don't take the leap and ditch a job that makes you miserable now, when will you ever? Leave that crummy boss in the dust, and seek out a career that truly makes you happy every day.

Life is too short to wake up every morning dreading going into the office.

12. Saying "No"

You can't please everyone all the time, and nodding your head to every single thing can be tiring AF.

If you don't agree with someone or something, *tactfully* voice your opinion, because you have every right to do so.
