10 Reasons The Saying 'Nice Guys Finish Last' Is Actually Dead-Wrong

The world is full of many selfish people, people who do things that benefit themselves and speak unkindly about others. They get caught in an unfulfilled life, and it’s a domino effect influencing everything in their life to come.

Then there are some people who just never speak a bad word about anyone; they walk into the room and it lights up merely with their presence.

They are successful and happy, and most the time these people are nice and genuine and care more about others than they do themselves.

The key to happiness in life is not defined by how much money you make or the car you drive, it is in your relationships and how you treat others.

The saying goes, “Nice guys finish last,” but I would have to disagree and this is why:

1. People will eventually like you if you just keep killing them with kindness.

At first people are going to question your genuine acts of kindness thinking you do it with a motive, but once they realize you aren’t putting on an act and you really are this way, people will come to accept it and come around.

2. You will learn to embrace your differences.

We live in a world full of people who are selfish, and the lucky few who learn this early on learn to be the minority and stick out in the best way possible.

3. Karma becomes your best friend

Just because you do not react to people who are mean, does not mean karma will be as kind.

Just keep smiling and being happy and you are going to be happier because you aren’t letting negative things or people bother you.

4. Relationships gone “bad”

If you get dumped and it doesn’t work out, most the time the other person will be really nice about it.

There are no dramatic ending or a huge falling out, you walk away with respect for each other and only hearing their words of “you deserve better.” And you do.

5. People will defend you to the ends of the earth

Since you're a good person, you are going to associate yourself with people who are just as great. In the event you run into situations in which someone does or says something unkind, you will have an army of people defending your honor.

6. Parents love you

Parents realize quickly that people like you are hard to come by and they hope their kid does not mess it up with you.

Similarly, your friends' parents always trust you and you become like their own kid.

7. A lot of the time you get what you want.

Kind people are happier people who send out good vibes to the world and things always work in their favor. We all know those people who just seem to have everything going right for them.

You enjoy his or her company, and he or she is usually successful.

8. The meanest thing anyone can come up with to insult you is “you are too nice.”

There are a lot of mean words people can put together in the dictionary, but none of them ever apply to you. If that is the meanest thing someone can say you are doing something very right.

9. Your impact goes beyond anything you can understand

You are going to change the way the people around you view everyone. You open a new door in a world full of many unkind people. You make others better, and by doing that you become even better yourself.

10. You are going to marry someone just as wonderful as you

You are going to become that power couple everyone gets annoyed with. I wish you a lifetime of happiness.
