An Open Letter To Every Human That Is Struggling Or Having A Bad Day

by Samuel Waller

Hi there amazing creature,

I am writing this letter to you in a moment of clarity that I feel within myself.

I am not writing as someone who has been void of personal struggles or unexplained bad days, rather, in my capacity as a fellow human being who wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts.

My interest in you has been sparked by the current world affairs, my recent experiences and social interactions both online and in the physical world. We can forge forward as a society as if nothing is wrong, however, I have learned it is important to address these feelings as they come into your life.

The plight of the human condition is cast across our screens every second of every day through technology, that of which, we, as a collective society, have become addicted to. Be it through TV, computers or mobile devices, it is hard not to come to terms with reality.

Whether you’re suffering from an illness, feeling depressed, missing someone, lost, at war, angry, confused or just having a bad day, it’s important to realize you’re not alone. Someone in this world of billions is thinking of you, even if, right now, that person is me.

There are so many beautiful things that happen in life that are easy to forget in the face of hardships and negativity that we all experience throughout our time on this planet. These things manifest themselves in different ways through each individual, but it is important to grasp those things that make you happy, even if it is just for a second.

Try not to let the negativity overshadow your existence, and remember, there is a lot of good going on around us. The simple gesture of two people hugging as they greet each other is enough to show the good nature that exists in all of us -- much like two complete strangers showing genuine interest in the lives of each other.

These are two very simple, wonderful and powerful elements of our journey through life as a collective living group. They are gestures we are all capable of through little effort that have a profound impact on others.

We should all feel connected in some way, as one thing is certain: We are all in this journey together and it is up to us to make a positive influence on our ever-changing culture.

Each and every one of us will, at some point, experience the same emotions, same hardships and same happiness along the way. We are not alone in this journey, and you can overcome any struggle with a positive outlook.

So connect with someone you have hurt, connect with someone you love and connect with someone you don’t know, as we are in this together, and no one has a better idea of how to go about it than you.
