15 Photos That Prove How Terrible The Denim-On-Denim Look Really Is

by Connor Toole

The Canadian tuxedo. All jean everything. Denimpalooza.

There are a few terms people use to describe outfits containing multiples pieces of denim apparel ("denimpalooza" isn't actually one of them, but it should be), but one thing remains consistent no matter which one you use: Denim on denim is a terrible look, and you probably shouldn't try to pull it off.

Fashion bloggers claim jeans have been making a comeback in the past few years, and if you've ever visited a fashion blog, you know the bloggers are the last people you want to listen to unless your goal is being the most ridiculous-looking person everywhere you go.

Over the years, a few people have been able to pull the look off, and they are:

1. Bruce Springsteen

If your name isn't on that list, you should probably stick to one piece of denim apparel at a time. (Hint: If you're having trouble deciding, it should be the one you wear below your waist 98 percent of the time.)

You can certainly try to pull it off, but you'll probably look as cool as these people.

The mullet really ties it all together.

The gradual transition from the 80s to the 90s was a confusing time for everyone involved.

Need more proof? You got it.

Some people took longer than others to grow out of it.

Would you believe me if I told you this was taken at a Walmart?

If this guy was a wrestler, his name would be "The Denim Demon," and he'd lose every single match.

Of course you did, Marky Mark. Of course you did.

"You know what would make me look even cooler? A fedora."

"You know what would make me look cooler? A fedora and a giant turtle."

A match made in Heaven (in more than one way).

This might be the same couple seven years later.

Obama's dad jeans look stylish in comparison.

"Stop complaining! It was on sale! We're taking the goddamn picture!"

I actually respect this guy. Jorts and a jean jacket are next-level fashion.

This guy, on the other hand, looks like a college professor doing everything he possibly can to call for help.
