Hilarious Dad Recreates Elf On The Shelf With A Life-Size Interpretation

by Kendall Wood

Canadian couple Joe and Megan Wynberg took an old tradition and made it anew this year, and they did it all in the name of competition.

In 2005, Elf on the Shelf became a Christmas tradition for families everywhere, and for the 25 days leading up to Christmas, the Elf would hide in a new peculiar space for the children of the house to find each morning.

The Wynbergs grew tired of seeing the hilarious pictures their friends were uploading to Facebook every day, showcasing their creative hiding spots for their families' elves.

So, the couple decided to one-up the competition by becoming the competition -- figuratively and literally.

Check out Joe Wynberg in various vulnerable positions around the home, getting into trouble as his life-size version of Elf on the Self, FLE.

It started off pretty innocent...

So we finally caved and decided to do the "Elf on the Shelf" thing. The kids are going to be so surprised! We named our elf FLE and he will be in some pretty precarious spots over the next 24 days! Enjoy. Posted by Megan Wynberg on Monday, November 30, 2015

But then he committed the cardinal sin of eating all the chocolate...

Well, day one, and I am not sure about this "Elf on the Shelf" thing. FLE ate the kids advent calendars, they will be devastated! Posted by Megan Wynberg on Tuesday, December 1, 2015

And then he made a real sh*tty mess...

FLE is out of control! I need to find my receipt. Couldn't handle those advent calendars he ate last night. Today is the second after all! Posted by Megan Wynberg on Wednesday, December 2, 2015

Followed by a real bitch of a mess...

Because picking up after four kids isn't enough! FLE was pretty exited about the first snowfall of the year and I'm pretty sure he pee'd on the floor. I'm getting rid of this thing! Posted by Megan Wynberg on Thursday, December 3, 2015

Then he started scaring the neighbors...

Awe! For pete's sake! I knew it was too good to be true. Posted by Megan Wynberg on Friday, December 4, 2015

And he really got a kick out of that...

So FLE has been trying to get in the house all day. Then I found him doing this. I may have to bring him back in before the neighbours call the cops. Posted by Megan Wynberg on Saturday, December 5, 2015

He became a real menace when he took down the entire tree...

So we got our tree up and decorated with the kids today. And then FLE tried to get in the tree like his other "Elf on the Shelf" buddies. Posted by Megan Wynberg on Sunday, December 6, 2015

Something had to be done to get this guy under control...

I brought in re-enforcement to get FLE the "Elf on the Shelf" under control. Posted by Megan Wynberg on Monday, December 7, 2015

But it wasn't long until he retaliated...

I think FLE is pretty upset about last night and is seeking revenge against those responsible for duck taping him to the wall. Posted by Megan Wynberg on Tuesday, December 8, 2015

When you have kids as cute as these four, becoming a human Elf on the Shelf isn't even debatable, it's a given.

We hope this couple's genius creative juices stay flowing for the next few weeks before Christmas. We need to see what else FLE gets himself into.
