It's no secret Starbucks has really been stepping up its coffee game over the past year.
If the addition of new menu items, like the flat white, got you out of bed in the morning, you might want to brace yourself.
Starbucks just added a latte macchiato to its permanent menu, and it looks delicious AF.
That's right. Starting January 5, you'll be able to get your hands on this tasty new beverage in Starbucks across the US, Canada and select locations in Latin America.
Now, if you're like most people, you're probably wondering what the hell a latte macchiato is.
Well, the answer is quite simple.
Similar to many of your favorite caffeinated beverages, the latte macchiato contains espresso and milk.
It's made by pouring steamed whole milk into a cup, then slowly adding espresso from a small pitcher and topping it off with a tiny dot. The end result is three defined layers of pure deliciousness.
