Shelter Dogs Create Amazing Art By Shaking Paint From Their Bodies (Video)

If you thought humans were the only ones who could create stunning pieces of art, think again.

Apparently, there are also a few talented canine Picassos out there.

For their latest project, "Canismo," the artists of AKQA São Paulo set out to help shelter dogs from Procure1Amigo create an incredible series of colorful splatter paintings.

To create these awesome pieces of art, they poured edible paint made from corn starch and food coloring onto their four-legged friends, and they had the dogs shake the paint off of their fur onto blank canvases.

But the best part is they captured the adorable paint-shaking process on video.

According to Canismo's website,

The shake of the paint reveals a remarkable exercise of freedom, where each drop of ink bears the stain of prejudice. The combination of different colours in the paintings shows the mixture of breeds, as random and as beautiful as each mongrel dog.

The artists hope their puppy art project will help support the São Paulo shelter pups and raise awareness about adopting pets.
