This House Looks Like It Comes Straight Out Of A 'Dr. Seuss' Story

by Robert Anthony

What kinds of things would you do just for a breathtaking, scenic view of the mountains?

The owner of a unique home in Willow, Alaska decided he'd turn his sanctuary into something that looks like it came right out of a Dr. Seuss book.

According to Laughing Squid, there's a whimsical looking structure in Alaska called the "Dr. Seuss House."

The home features a tall tier of small structures built on top of each other making the home's jagged edges stand out in this tree-covered part of Alaska.

The man who originally built the Dr. Seuss House wanted an everlasting view of nearby Mount McKinley/Denali, but as trees grew back from a past forest fire, he lost his view.

That's when he decided to take matters into his own hands over the span of 10 years and literally built himself up to obtain a postcard-like view of his surroundings.

The original owner of the home has died, and it belongs to someone else now.

Check out the photos and video below for a closer look.

At first sight, you'd probably think this was a movie set from a Dr. Seuss film, but it's not:

This home is at least four stories high, with each new addition a different size:
