Members of the pro-wrestling community and fans took to Twitter to express their condolences.

Touted as the "Ninth Wonder of the World" by the World Wrestling Foundation, Chyna was the only female performer to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship, which she did twice.

Chyna was known as the "most dominant female performer of all time" at the height of her 90's fame, a title she earned in the ring with victories over some of the most revered male wrestlers in the game, including world champions Chris Jericho, Triple H and Jeff Jarrett.

The New York-born star is said to have had a years-long struggle with substance abuse, as well as mental illness.
