Emojis are designed to convey ideas we can't (or rather wouldn't) put into words. But according to a recent University of Minnesota study, not everyone interprets emojis in the same way.
To test these findings, the folks at Jimmy Kimmel Live! hit the streets to ask strangers what they think of when they see emojis like the (phallic) eggplant and the (booty-shaped) peach.
Like a modern-day Rorschach test, the experiment delivered some interesting (and hilarious) results. The takeaway? Emojis mean different things to different people, so if you have something to say, it's probably best to use your words.
