It has been over a week since the series finale of Pretty Little Liars aired and you would think after seven years all the twists and turns would finally be over. Well, as usual when it comes to PLL, you were wrong.

That's right, here we are, one week later, and we're still getting new plot twists to think about.

You might remember the most anticipated moment of this season: the reveal of the mysterious A.D. as Alex Drake, Spencer's British twin sister. In the last moments of the Season 7 finale episode, we see Mona holding Mary and Alex Drake hostage, but Troian Bellisario recently revealed some behind the scenes secrets about the show and, apparently, that wasn't always the plan. She told Entertainment Tonight,

There was actually an amendment to the [original] ending.

She went on to talk more about what the writers originally envisioned. She said,

I don't know if I'm supposed to say this — but I think originally the ending was supposed to be a little bit different where Alex had kind of gotten away with it a little bit more, and the only person that was onto her was Toby. But I think that ultimately would've left things too much up in the air and we would've been worried for Spencer.

This idea of Alex "[getting] away with a little bit more" opens up a lot of other avenues the show could've taken, which is definitely interesting to think about considering not everyone was pleased with the way the show ended.

Ultimately, Bellisario said she agrees with the ending chosen for the show because, as she put it,

Spencer got a happy ending, and all the girls got a happy ending, and Alex got to be with her family -- which is great, but also in a little bit of a tricky situation.

Now I guess we just need to wait and see whether or nor there will be a PLL spinoff. TBH I'm not sure I could handle that stress all over again.
