JK Rowling Tells Writer To Pursue Her Dreams And Forget All The Haters
by Taylor Ortega
It was the great (albeit fictional) Albus Dumbledore who once said,
Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.
JK Rowling stays true to these words even though she wrote them nearly a decade ago.
On August 15, Rowling responded to a tweet from an aspiring writer in Egypt with some serious words of wisdom.
@jk_rowling You inspired me to write. However, in Egypt, girls can't do anything freely as boys. They laugh at me when I say I am a writer. — Preliator. (@Hagar_ElSaeed) August 15, 2015
The generation raised on Rowling's words soon chimed in, continuing to buoy the amateur author.
The woman was naturally touched by the outpour of love and support.
Happiness overload. Thanks everyone! xx — Preliator. (@Hagar_ElSaeed) August 15, 2015
As if writing arguably the greatest young adult series of all time wasn't enough, Rowling continues to devote herself to her readers.
Just to be clear, you already had our allegiance, Joanne.
