Seth Rogen Threw James Franco A 'Bar Mitzvah' For Alzheimer's Charity

by Gillian Fuller

Look out, world: James Franco is finally a man.

The eldest Franco brother celebrated his very own (belated) Bar Mitzvah at the Hollywood Palladium on Saturday, as part of Hilarity for Charity's fourth annual “variety show” benefiting the Alzheimer's Association.

The raucous party, hosted by Hilarity for Charity cofounder Seth Rogen and live-streamed on go90 by Funny Or Die, had all the makings of a proper Bar Mitzvah: a traditional Mazel Tov toast, courtesy of Bill Hader; musical guests, including Miley Cyrus as “Miley Cyrustein & The Super Jews” and Haim; an onstage mock circumcision, performed by Rabbi Jeff Goldblum.

If you missed your chance to catch the live stream, check out some photos from Franco's fête, below:

Tons of Jew-ish celebrities joined the party to celebrate Franco's coming of age.

Miley "Cyrustein" Cyrus performed in a "Shalom, Y'all" cape...

And brought a life-sized Star of David onstage to set the mood for the night.

Fellow comedians Kyle Kinane and Justin Willman performed short stand-up sets...

And Rabbi Jeff Goldblum had the honor of circumcising the man of the hour.

All in all, the evening was a huge success.

Through ticket sales and donations, Hilarity for Charity, founded by Rogen and wife Lauren Miller Rogen, raised more than $2 million for the Alzheimer's Association.

Mazel tov!
