Genius Makes Awesome Throwback VHS Covers For Recent Shows And Movies

by Adam Pliskin

The VHS is a dead format. It may cling to life in some dark corners of this world, but for most intents and purposes, it's as dead as disco.

That's a shame because the covers for VHS tapes were so excellent. And we've been robbed of some great cover art for many years. Until now, that is.

A clever Frenchman named Julien Knez made his very own fake VHS covers for some recent TV shows and movies.

He created vintage-looking covers for shows like "Breaking Bad," "Game of Thrones," "Dexter" and "The Walking Dead."

Knez said,

I created them for April Fools' Day, pretending I was a Parisian hipster named Stan who only watched modern TV and movies on VHS.

Even though these were done as a joke, I think Knez is on to something. You can check out the awesome covers below.

"The Grand Budapest Hotel"

"Gravity"

"The Wolf of Wall Street"

"Breaking Bad"

"Guardians of the Galaxy"

"Game of Thrones"

"The Walking Dead"

"Dexter"

"Interstellar"

Knez even has an old-timey TV to complete the illusion.
