OK, I'll admit it, I was a major nerd in high school.
I didn't have a ton of friends back in the day, so I'll never forget going to see the "Lord of the Rings" films in theaters with my mom.
And, since we're being honest, I'll never forget when I received the "LOTR" trilogy extended box DVD set for a birthday gift one year.
In any event, I have some amazing news for all my fellow "Lord of the Rings" nerds.
Dominic Monaghan, who played Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, posted three pictures on Instagram, the first of which is practically an exact copy from "The Fellowship of the Ring" movie poster.
To caption the above photo, Monaghan wrote,
They have a cave troll. @theoneringnet @electrice @boydbilly @orlandobloom @empiremagazine #squadgoals
Thankfully, this wasn't the only photo Monaghan posted. Below is a shot of the 40-year-old with an unsuspecting Viggo Mortensen, 58, who played Aragorn in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
To caption the above photo, "Merry" wrote,
My captain. My king. @theoneringnet @empiremagazine
Finally, Dominic Monaghan posted a photo of himself with Elijah Wood, Frodo and Billy Boyd, Pip, and if this Hobbit picture doesn't make you feel some type of way, well, something's dead inside of you.
To caption the above photo, the 40-year-old wrote,
Doffing the off the shoulder band look with aplomb @boydbilly @bollyboydactor making @electrice and I look like onions. @theoneringnet @empiremagazine
In case you weren't already feeling old after looking at the above photos, now might be a good time to take a minute and remind yourself the final movie in the "LOTR" trilogy, "The Return of the King," hit theaters over 13 years ago in 2003.
