'Dark Places' Trailer Looks Just As Disturbing As 'Gone Girl' (Video)

by Adam Pliskin

Gillian Flynn's second novel, "Dark Places," has been turned into a major motion picture, and this is the first trailer for that film.

Flynn wrote both the novel and the screenplay for "Gone Girl."

Rosamund Pike was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the film, and the movie grossed over $350 million worldwide. Suffice it to say, "Gone Girl" was a huge success.

The film version of "Dark Places" hopes to follow in its footsteps.

The film stars Charlize Theron as a woman who saw her family murdered when she was a young girl. The movie also features Nicholas Hoult, Chloë Grace Moretz and Corey Stoll.

There is no set US release date for this film as of yet, but it is expected to come out later this year.
