Eva Longoria Goes Off On A Reporter Who Said She Doesn't Need Glasses

by Gillian Fuller

Yesterday, actress Eva Longoria went off on a reporter via Twitter after the reporter published an article claiming, among other things, the actress's eyeglasses were just for show.

Celebrities are no strangers to the rumor mill, and this particular rumor seems pretty harmless in the grand scheme of things.

But for Longoria, it touched a nerve.

The actress's anger may have had something to do with writer Jenna Clarke's obvious disdain for her.

In her article for The Sydney Morning Herald, Clarke wrote,

We had Eva Longoria, the star of 'Desperate Housewives' (don't remember it? As your nan about how popular it was like, a decade ago) in town representing a budget eyewear chain, but according to photographers that have been snapping her for close to 15 years — she doesn't wear spectacles. [Longoria] is a serial offender when it comes to selling out in a not so subtle way.

In response, the former "Desperate Housewives" star penned a lengthy, scathing reply to Twitter, clearing her name and making Clarke look like an idiot in the process.

In the tweet, Longoria suggests Clarke do more research in the future, calls her previous work "lazy" and, rather bitingly, refers to her as “just [a] lifestyle journalist.”

She seals the deal by posting not one, not two, but three photos of herself -- taken at different times -- wearing glasses.

Unsurprisingly, Clarke has yet to respond, and if I were her, I never would.

It's not every day someone is insulted by a celebrity, and that makes this feud all the more entertaining.

Check out Longoria's tweets below.
