Specifically, that time when both Chrissy and John cut off the exact same finger tip slicing up the exact same batch of potatoes and had to go to the hospital.
Doesn't that make you feel a little bit better about the time you somehow burnt your spaghetti?
Chrissy told this cooking disaster story in a recent interview with Delish.
Apparently, the married couple were having a few friends over to watch football on a Sunday, like you do.
Chrissy, excellent host that she is, decided to make some scalloped potatoes for her sports-loving guests.
However, Chrissy, smart lady that she is, decided she did not want to be the one who had to cut up all those potatoes with her mandoline slicer.
In case you've never been rich or worked in the food industry, this is what a mandoline slicer looks like:
It's really freakin' sharp and powerful, basically.
So that's when things got a little... dicey. (Sorry, I'm so sorry, I had to.)
The 31-year-old model told Delish,
I gave John the task, and within the first three swipes, he cut the tip of his finger clean off. He refused medical attention because of whatever was happening at that point in the game, so I told him to go sit and let me show him how it's done. First swipe — first! — I sliced off the exact same finger tip. We have a great photo of us both at the urgent care center.
Yikes. Y'all literally can't learn from each other's mistakes, can you?
Well, apparently Chrissy did learn something from this incident. She told Delish she always wears heavy-duty Kevlar gloves whenever she uses the mandoline. (Which, yes, you should always do that.)
Maybe Chrissy and John should just stick to John's famous mac and cheese for a little while.
