Why Are Women In Business So Feared?

What is it about a successful woman that intimidates us? Is it the power suit? The added height via pumps? The dark shielding sunglasses? Regardless of what the actual reason is, it seems as if successful and powerful businesswomen are more frightening than a successful male in business.

So why is this? Perhaps it’s that a woman has to be assertive to gain a position that a man would have access to with virtually no problem. It’s sad but true. Men still dominate the corporate world. It’s expected for men to be in power and in the lead when it comes to business, because that’s the way it started and the way it’s always been.

Women have been making incredible strides in the business world, but you’d all be lying if you told me that it was just as easy for a woman as it is for a man. It takes more work and most definitely more aggression or assertion from a woman pursuing a business position. Do women remain assertive and aggressive once they’ve obtained the position they hoped for? I’ve come to think that the answer is yes.

Women probably feel like they have to keep an aggressive attitude in the office, for fear of losing their position to a man, or a more assertive woman.
