Every single one of us holds a special place in our hearts for our childhood. To me, and many others I’m sure; Disney will forever make me feel like a child. I would visit Disney World right now as an adult with no children and have just as much fun as I did when I was eight years old.

I’m almost positive that the majority of you feel the same way. How impressive is that for Disney as a company to be able to have that kind of effect on people? Disney is such a major corporation that has various media outlets. Anne Sweeney is the president of Disney/ABC Television Group, just one of those outlets, along with being a company co-chairman at Disney Media Networks.

Sweeney earned a Bachelor’s degree from The College of New Rochelle and a Ed. M. degree from Harvard University. After graduation Sweeney spent 12 impressive years working for Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite holding various executive positions. She aided in overseeing Nickelodeon’s international expansion, launching the channel in the UK and joining with British Sky Broadcasting.

She moved onto FX Networks where she was actually chairman and CEO. In February 1996, Sweeney joined The Walt Disney Company as president of Disney Channel and executive vice president of Disney/ABC Cable Networks.

During her time at Disney, Sweeney has been names one of the Most Powerful Women in Entertainment and Business, and she deserves it. Under her current position, Sweeney oversees ABC Studios, ABC Owned Television Stations Group, the ABS Television Network, Disney Channels Worldwide (which includes Disney Channel, Disney XD, Playhouse Disney, Disney Cinemagic, etc) ABC Family, SOAPnet and Hyperion.

Talk about being busy, huh?
