Victoria’s Secret Under Fire

Victoria’s Secret has their toes dipped into a tricky business as is. In the lingerie business, you have to be careful of what your ads look like, and what they say, so to avoid any critical backlash.

The world’s most popular underwear company forgot about that slight detail when promoting their new Bright Young Things ad. The company is facing all sorts of backlash for this ad, which was supposedly meant to be targeting towards pre-college age girls, with some critics saying that VS is “portraying teens as sexual objects”.

Victoria’s Secret denies that the ad was meant to target too-young girls by saying "Victoria's Secret PINK is a brand for college-aged women. Despite recent rumors, we have no plans  to introduce a collection for younger women. Bright Young Things was a slogan used in conjunction with the college spring break tradition."
