Nasty Gal is an online shopping destination popular amongst the edgier girl. Their styles are young and fun, their name is enticing, and their business has been extremely lucrative.

Nasty Gal started off as an eBay store by 28-year-old founder Sophia Amoruso. The company has been doing so well, that it may be time for a bigger investor to take a chance on the company. Will it be Urban Outfitters? Maybe so.

According to the New York Times, Urban Outfitters recently contacted Ms. Amoruso about a potential acquisition. It would be a great investment for Urban Outfitters if this rumor is true.

Nasty Gal made $128 million in sales last year, and netted close to $100 million. Amoruso also raised close to $50 million from Index Ventures. Amoruso is definitely not hurting for the money, but a merger with one of America’s favorite stores could be a huge move for the small company.
