Rebelling against the notion that super skinny models are the only ones who look hot in bikinis, a group of plus-size women decided to create their own calendar by recreating famous pictures and poses featured in Sport Illustrated magazine.

Sponsored by plus-size swimwear brand Swimsuits For All, the company enlisted the help of models, bloggers and other women to prove that sexiness isn't defined by a size 0.

Plus-size models Robyn Lawley, Jada Sezer, Shareefa J and plus-size fashion blogger Gabi Gregg donned bikinis to prove that confident, beautiful women come in very different body types.

Sezer, 24, said the point of the calendar is to provide other women with role models of varying shapes and sizes, instead of the slender, statuesque model standard that so many people have come to accept as the marker of a beautiful body.

I think there needs to be more publications and campaigns so that people can say, wow, I look like these women, and they look comfortable and sexy and they’re portraying my body type.

Gregg, a 27-year-old size 18 blogger, agreed that the calendar was an important tool for promoting positive body images.

I think it’s sad that the representatives of women in mainstream culture are usually so small because we have such a diversity of sizes in the real world.

The calendar, entitled "Sexy at Every Curve" and shot in the Turks and Caicos, is available on the Swimsuits for All website. You can also watch video coverage from the sizzling shoot.
