New Study Finds That Testicles Can Taste

Stocksy

You may think you read the title of this article wrong, but you didn’t. According to Business Insider, a study published today by Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that taste receptors aren’t only found in your mouth, but also in your stomach, intestines, pancreas, lungs… and male testicles (or hermaphrodites.)

That’s right… balls can taste things. I guess this serves as an opportunity to be more experimental in bed? Watch, next thing we know men are going to try to start feeding their balls. If they do, there’s one important thing they should know. Allegedly, their testicles only have receptors for sweet and umami proteins.

Umami is the amino acid found in soy sauce. Sushi time! JUST KIDDING. According to the study, we are not actually sure what these newfound taste receptors are for. We know that they signal proteins, but researchers doubt that they can be used for taste like they are on the tongue. Apparently, these taste receptors are a vital component for fertilization.

Ok this talk is making me nauseous so that’s all for now. Do what you want with this information.
