Red Carpet Fashion Predictions

One of the most highly anticipated aspects of the Academy Awards is who will be walking down the red carpet, and in what. With fashion forecasts and previous award shows guiding us, we can only make predictions as to what will be coming down the red carpet.

Speaking of red, the color has been everywhere. Not only on the red carpet (obviously), but in what the stars have been wearing. Award shows leading up to this Sunday have had an influx of women wearing shades of red, like Jennifer Lawrence and Helen Hunt.

Another color trend? Blue. Jessica Chastain has been seen wearing electric blue, while Amanda Seyfried has preferred a classic navy shade. Navy has also dominated menswear leading up to the event, but we all know that black tie formal dress is required for men.

I suspect a neutral palate this Sunday. Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts and Anne Hathaway have been seen wearing nudes or whites leading up to this show. With black and white being one of the main color palates of Spring 2013, I can only predict that the contrasting colors will be dominating on the red carpet.
