This Easy Red Wine Spaghetti Recipe Will Definitely Impress Your Valentine

by Brit + Co

Amping up the romance this Valentine's Day is as simple as showing off your skills in the kitchen? There's nothing sexier than a date who knows her way around a tasty Italian feast.

We spotted this Red Wine Spaghetti situation on Food & Wine a while back and have been waiting for the perfect occasion to put our own spin on it. What better way to celebrate your special someone than with red wine and pasta?

Light a few candles for ambiance and get cooking. Pro tip: It doesn't hurt to pour yourself a generous glass of wine before starting in on the prep work.

Ingredients: 5 cups water 2 bottles dry red wine 1 pound spaghetti 1/3 cup olive oil 8 garlic cloves, minced Salt and pepper, to taste Parmesan cheese Romano cheese Fresh basil, chopped

Bring water and 1 3/4 bottles of red wine to a boil in a pasta pot.

Add the spaghetti and cook for 9 minutes, until al dente. Drain and rinse the pasta, set aside.

Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.

Add minced garlic to the pan and saute for a few minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Add pasta and the remaining wine to the pan. Toss to combine.

Add grated Parmesan and Romano (the more, the better!).

Top with fresh basil and more cheese (All of the cheese, to be specific).

Serve with red wine, side salad and a crusty baguette.

Seriously, how good does this look?
