The European Union’s Latest Ban

by Ally Batista

If someone were to mention to you that all animal testing across any country was banned, I bet the majority of you would be extremely excited, right? Well, The European Union could be kick starting that.

The EU is expected to place a ban against importing and selling animal-tested cosmetics products and ingredients across the 27 separate European states included in the union, beginning March 11.

The ban states that companies who want to sell new cosmetics and ingredients in the European Union must not test them on animals anywhere in the world. This ban has apparently been a long time coming.

First drafted in 1991, the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments was created to end animal-testing for cosmetics.
