This Video Shows 60 Years Of Stunning Wedding Hairdos In Just 2 Minutes

by Taylor Ortega

On Friday, BuzzFeed Video took viewers on a journey through over a half decade of nuptial fashion with “Wedding Hairstyles: 1960s-Now.”

The video, which has much in common, stylistically, with The Cut’s “100 Years of Beauty” series, features LA hairstylist Kayley Melissa recreating elaborate hairdos that were at the height of popularity for the brides who wore them in their respective decades.

For a viewer of the Millennial generation, the outrageous teased half-updo Kayley creates for the 1980s portion of the video is probably an eerie reenactment of every wedding photo hanging in your parents' house.

Interestingly, it appears modern brides have taken to revamping styles from years past.

The hairstyle Kayley creates for her final contemporary look is reminiscent of the 1970s style she crafts in the first half of the video.

The unconventional bride may consider looking to the past for wedding day hairspiration, and this video is the first step.
