On Saturday night, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. defeated Manny Pacquiao by unanimous decision.
The fight went the distance, but it was, well, pretty boring for the casual boxing fan.
The cold open on "Saturday Night Live," however, was not.
"SNL" absolutely nailed it with the assessment of Saturday (a day of hockey playoffs, the Kentucky Derby and golf) as "the whitest day in the history of professional sports," and the show's depiction of the fight, which was occurring simultaneously with the broadcast, was pretty spot on, too.
