What's the worst part of being a high school wrestler?

Getting herpes on your face.

One California teen had the unthinkable happen to him when he somehow contracted the virus after a match on what had to be the dirtiest mat of all time.

According to ABC 7, Blake Flovin from South Bay High School in San Jose noticed the bumps showing up on his face last month and was later diagnosed with herpes galdiatorum, pretty much ending his high school wrestling career.

Now, however, Blake wants the district to postpone the tournament so no other kid has to deal with the trauma he's currently going through.

He told ABC 7,

Either they need to be stopped from wrestling or the state tournament needs to be postponed. Just trying to prevent this disease from getting to other people.

The craziest part is it's actually quite common for wrestlers to contract herpes. I guess the easy solution is for people to just stop wrestling.

We hope Blake makes a full recovery.
