Why I'll Always Choose To Date The Student Athlete Over The Frat Star
In college, you’re bound to date all types of guys, but two types we all tend to go after at some point or another are the frat star and the student athlete.
Every girl has her own opinions and experiences with both dating pools. Some prefer men with a refreshing Natty and Sperrys while others prefer their men wearing Nikes and your school’s athletic gear.
Both stereotypes offer their pros and cons and, to be blunt, any kind of dating in college can be categorized as complicated.
However, it’s time to put this debate to rest, so everyone, go grab your favorite cheap beer and jersey as we watch this fight unveil:
Round One: How They Handle Challenges
Let's face it: Relationships can be tough, but relationships in college can be even tougher since everyone is keeping busy and is constantly stressed.
So, you want to make sure anyone you date can handle any bumps in the road your relationship may face.
Athletes tend to be able to handle challenges better than anyone else on campus can. Being used to all the pressure and intensity a game can bring, they're able to handle semi-rocky relationships with ease.
Round Two: Going Out On Weekends
Sorry athletes, this one goes to the frat stars, hands down. Weekends are meant to be enjoyed and blow off some steam, and the frat boys are usually down to party.
Sometimes in college, people are so busy that the only real time they have free is the weekend. This is ideal if you love going out and partying with your man.
Dating a frat boy basically gets you an automatic invite to the party, and he's always down to go out. He also won't complain if you want to go to some silly themed party. If anything, he might be more excited to go than you are.
Round Three: Support System
Now, this one is tough, mainly because both guys can show support — whether it's for teammates or brothers.
However, after some review and consideration, the student athlete takes the lead again with this category. Athletes know how to show constant support and they also know the importance of teamwork.
Dating an athlete is kind of like dating your biggest fan; he'll motivate you and always provide any pep talks you may need.
Round Four: Availability
Although dating a student athlete is fun, during his sport's season, it can be hard to get quality time together. With the hectic sporting schedule and away games, the athlete might not have time to date that much.
Taking that into consideration, this round goes to the frat star. He's more available and can, if he chooses, spend more time with you since he's not consistently traveling with a team.
The frat star loves his school and, of course, his frat, so he'll most likely be on campus a lot. This can provide more opportunities for you two to see each other.
Round Five: Commitment
One key factor to any relationship is commitment.
Forming and maintaining relationships with someone requires time and commitment from both people. It's commitment, or lack there of, that can either make or break the relationship.
When comparing the frat star and athlete, it's pretty clear which one wins this round.
Student athletes are committed to their schools, education, sports and loved ones. Commitment comes naturally to this group and they understand the importance of staying committed to something.
As we've just seen, both groups come with benefits and dating challenges. It was a close race, but in a 3-2 victory, this match goes to the student athletes! This proves once again that everybody loves to date the jock.
